The Work
The Making of the Masterpiece
It was a weekend, and I had everything I needed. I had the bowl, the underglazes, and the Precision Applicator. I sat down at my kitchen table on Saturday (ON A SATURDAY. if that doesn't show commitment, I don't know what does) and went to work. I had my bowl spinning on a make-shift wheel (a cake spinner. I'm a baker too), I had underglaze in the Precision Applicator, and coffee to keep me energized. Here's a step-by-step:
- Throw a form to paint the design (In this case, I chose a bowl)
- Grab a precision applicator and the 14 gauge tip
- Put underglaze in the precision applicator
- Squeeze out the underglaze onto the form in the desired pattern
- Squeeze out remaining glaze or clean it out, and switch out the color
- Repeat until the desired design is achieved
